Spring Has Finally Arrived

Spring is Here!!

I am sure we are all happy that winter is almost behind us. I know I am looking forward to some warmer weather after a long cold winter.

If you are planting a garden this spring consider planting an extra row for a local food pantry. According to AmpleHarvest, an estimated 100 billion pounds of food – enough to totally eliminate hunger in this country, is thrown away annually.

If you are interested in helping out a local pantry this summer visit their website and find out more information.

Four Easy Ways to Help Your Local Food Pantry

Easy Ways to Help a Food Pantry

1)     Donate food-Organize a small food drive at your church, work or school. Donate the product to your local pantry.

2)     Donate personal care items-If you don't want to bother with carry cans of food you could collect personal care items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes and deodorant. These items are always needed by food pantries.

3)     Donate money-If you don't have time to organize a drive, local pantries can always use monetary donations. If you get a receipt this is always tax deductible.

4)     Donate your time- Pantries are always looking for volunteers. Donate your time once a month to help out all year round.

Send your extra coupons to Coupons4FoodPantries. Your extra coupons will help us purchase more items for our adopted pantry. Coupons that are especially useful are:

Toothpaste
Shampoo
Tuna or Hamburger Helper
Boxed Potatoes
Canned Vegetables
Canned Soup

Remember You Local Food Pantry

Before heading out to spend the holiday with your family this year, consider donating a case of food to your local food pantry or foodbank. To find your local organization visit:

According to Feeding America, hunger in America exists for over 50 million people. That is 1 in 6 of the U.S. population – including more than 1 in 5 children. Your donation can go a long way in eliminating this problem. Happy Thanksgiving.
