12 Coupons for Christmas

Top Coupons Needed for Holiday Pantry Shopping

As we approach the holiday season there are certain items that having coupons for really helps us in our shopping. Below is a list of the those coupons:

12) Dish Detergent- Coupons for .50 cents off of  Dawn are really helpful. If the small containers are on sale for $1.00 we can stock up for the pantry.

11) Deodorant-We can sometimes get it for free with the right coupons.

10) Canned Vegetables-The pantry can always use vegetables.

9) Canned Fruit-If pineapple or oranges(usually Dole brands) are on sale for $1.00 a 50 cent coupon is priceless to us. This an item that low income individuals usually can't afford and it is so healthy for them.

8) Pasta Sauce- All coupons help with this and are sometimes hard to come by.

7) Pasta- You need pasta for the pasta sauce. If you have the right combination of coupons you can get pasta for 50 cents a box.

6) Boxed Potatoes- We can get boxes of potatoes for as little as 50 cents each with the right coupons. Usually the Betty Crocker brand has the best deals

5) Hamburger Helper- Another great item for the pantry and a great deal with the right coupons.

4) Toothpaste-This item we can get for free sometime with the right coupons and deals!!

3) Shampoo- Coupons for VO5 and Sauve are the best for this one. With the right coupons and sales we can get shampoo or conditioner for 30 cents per bottle.

2) Soup- We LOVE the coupons for Progresso Soup. Campbell's has some good deals also so we won't be unhappy with coupons for Campbell's as well.

1) Cereal-The pantry absolutely loves receiving donated cereal. We have practically made an art form out of getting cereal for $1.00 a box.

If you can help us out with any of these coupons it will help stretch our holiday budget this year.

School Lunch Healthier Than Brown Bagging It

As a former "lunch lady" I always hated how the school lunch program always seemed to get such bad press. I always witnessed parents sending snacks and other unhealthy items to school with their children everyday while trying to serve healthy items to students. I was really happy to hear that recent studies have shown that school lunches are actually healthier than those brought from home.
